The annual Walter O. Mason (WOM) TRIO Achiever Award is designed to recognize and honor former Oklahoma TRIO participants who have demonstrated exemplary accomplishments in their professional pursuits and for whom TRIO played a fundamental role in their educational achievements.

Each year a former Oklahoma TRIO participant who embodies the TRIO spirit of excellence and achievement is selected as the WOM TRIO Achiever. The WOM TRIO Achiever is recognized at the annual conference and represents ODSA at the SWASAP Regional Conference.

NOMINATION CRITERIA
The WOM TRIO Achiever candidate must:
|
- Be a former TRIO participant who was enrolled in and successfully completed an Oklahoma TRIO program.
|
- Have successfully completed a post-secondary education program of study resulting in a baccalaureate or terminal degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
|
- Be a person of high stature within their profession or received recognition for outstanding academic achievement.
|
- Be currently employed above the entry level designation for their profession or enrolled in a program for a degree above the baccalaureate degree.
|
- Have significant civic, community, or professional contributions.
