Known as the “Father of TRIO” Walter O Mason’s impact on TRIO is insurmountable. He was responsible for drafting the regulations for the first Upward Bound Programs, and organizing the states of AR, LA, NM, OK, & TX to form the first regional TRIO professional organization (SWASAP). |
Dr. Mitchem contribution to TRIO Programs are unmeasurable. He currently sits as the President Emeritus for COE, and was the previous President from 1986-2013. Dr. Mitchem was vital to the success of TRIO in the mid 70’s where his actions lead to the beginning of communication between TRIO Programs and Washington D.C. | Ms. Hoyler serves as President of COE where she oversees management of the Washington office and the fiscal affairs of the Association also while serving as the primary liaison between the Association and the United States Congress, the Executive Branch, all Governmental Agencies. She is the official representative of the Association with all other post-secondary educational associations. |
